Lucia shares, “I moved to Austin almost 3 years ago to be closer to my grandchildren. It was the right decision, though it was hard as I had lived abroad for my entire life. My life was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. Starting chemo was very difficult and losing my hair has been very emotional. I used to be very active and had a great appetite. Now, simple activities take a toll and my appetite is gone. My family and friends have been very supportive. I like to collect antiques. I live alone and strive to remain as independent (for as long) as possible.”
